Do you want to know why I use a knife? Guns are too quick. You can’t savor all the…little emotions. In…you see, in their last moments, people show you who they really are. So in a way, I know your friends better than you ever did. Would you like to know which of them were cowards?

THE JOKER: To them you’re just a freak, like me. They need you right now…but when they don’t, they’ll cast you out like a leper. You see, their morals—their code—it’s a bad joke, dropped at the first sign of trouble. They’re only as good as the world allows them to be. I’ll show you. When the chips are down, these, uh, these civilized people…they’ll eat each other. See, I’m not a monster. I’m just ahead of the curve.

My favorite scene from The Dark Knight, suggested by Jen!

“The Joker is a psychopathic, mass murdering, schizophrenic clown with zero empathy…. Last week I probably slept an average of two hours a night. I couldn’t stop thinking. My body was exhausted, and my mind was still going,”
Heath Andrew Ledger; 4 April 1979 - 22 January 2008.

sweetestrush:

After his death, Heath Ledger has received more than 30 posthumous awards for his portrayal as The Joker in The Dark Knight including the Oscar.

It’s definitely a machine and you really feel it when you’re on set. The awareness of it is creepy, but I couldn’t turn down this character. I really enjoy working behind a mask. It’s sinister and psychotic and he’s blood thirsty. It’s just twisted and I’ve really enjoyed it.
